Peewee AE Champions
Our Peewee AE team gave it their all leaving everything on the ice this past weekend.
The round robin series ended in a 4 way tie which resulted in the top team receiving a by into the championship and the remaining three teams having to battle it out in a one game sudden death series.
Up first would be the Peewee AE vs Welland Tigers Minor. In the round robin the Peewee AE lost 3 - 1 so we knew we needed to come out strong which is exactly what the boys did by winning 8 - 3.
Second game would be vs Garden City Falcon Minor. In the round robin these two team ended up in a tie 1 - 1. The Peewee AE were victorious this time with a 5 - 2 win and moved onto the championship series against the strong Glanbrook Peewee Minor team.
What a match up the Gold medal series turned out to be.

Game 1 was a close game. The game was tied 2 - 2 going into the third period. The minor team scored moving ahead 3 - 2 with 10 minutes remaining on the clock. The AE team ties it up again with 5 minutes left in the period. The AE team finds the back of the net with the game winning goal with only 3 minutes left in the third period.
Game 2 what a thriller. The minors jumped out with an early 3 - 0 lead. The AE's needed to regroup and get back into the game which is exactly what they did. We clawed our way back into the game with a score of 3 - 2 at the end of the second period. The minors found the back of our net at the start of the third making it 4 - 2. We found the back of the minor net from the blue line bringing us within one goal of tying the game. The minors moved ahead 5 - 3 with a great goal on a penalty shot with under 10 minutes remaining in the third period. The AE boys kept fighting and were within one goal again with 3:25 left on the clock. The boys tied it up 5 - 5 with 1:08 left in the third. Our AE boys were determined to win battling right until the last seconds of the game. The AE team finally take the lead 6 - 5 with 12.7 second remaining in the period which sealed the season for the Peewee AE team.
