CHAMPIONS!!
11 months ago, 14 kids were offered spots on the Glanbrook Rangers Novice Rep team.
Our season began in mid August with a couple practices and our first exhibition game. October saw our regular season begin - one which would see us gel as a team and put up a 16-2-2 record. The team continued to improve every game and displayed their dominance throughout the playoffs going 11-1 in the round robin portion. Sunday March 30th saw the culmination of our season long effort and drive to be the best as we faced a tough squad from Twin Centre in the championship game.
11 months ago, 14 kids were offered spots on the Glanbrook Rangers Novice Rep team. Over the course of the season, those 14 individuals became something greater: a team. 325 days after calling themselves a Ranger, the boys added another tag to that: Champion.
Congratulations boys! We are all very proud of you and everything you have accomplished this year. It is our hope that you will look back on this season at some point in the distant future and recognize this year as one of the most fun hockey seasons of your lives. May the memories and friendships you've made here last you a lifetime.
As your coach, I have one last request for you this season. Come back to Glanbrook Arena when you are a dad. Bring your kid(s) with you. Point out the banners that you won (2013-14 OMHA Finalist; 2013-14 Southern Counties Champion). Tell them all about the season and the kids you played with and how much fun you had. Tell them how proud the coaches were of you and although they pushed you at times (and maybe yelled), it was out of their desire to see you be the best you could be. Tell them you hope that at some point in their hockey career they have as much fun during a season as you had this year.
Thanks for making this such an amazing season boys.
