U8 & Initiation Hockey Program’s
Glanbrook Minor Hockey is set to once again deliver our U8 House League and Hockey School - Initiation Program for the 2022/23 hockey season

Hockey School – 2017 & 2018 born players

Our Hockey School program is geared towards the introducing our youngest players to the wonderful game of hockey in a fun, structured, safe, and positive atmosphere.

Players will learn the basic skills of skating, stick handling, and shooting to help build their confidence on the ice.

The GMHA is very excited that our Lead Instructors of Ryan Risidore and Mandy Risidore will be returning for the 2022/23 season. Please see our Hockey school page HERE for both Ryan and Mandy’s impressive resume’s and qualifications.

Hockey School runs for 20 weeks. All sessions will be Saturday mornings at Glanbrook Arena.

 U8 – 2015 & 2016 born players

Our U8 program is the continuation of development in the basic skills of hockey including skating technique (forwards, backwards, edges, etc.), passing, puck handling, and shooting.

Fun, skill development, and fair play are the central components of our U8 division. All players will be assigned to teams to create a balanced, fun, team based atmosphere.

All games are half ice in accordance with OMHA / Hockey Canada regulations. Half ice hockey promotes age appropriate practice and game play for the age, size, and skill of the players.

All U8 practices and games are held at Glanbrook Arena on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
